How we choose operators

We only fly with ARGUS Gold and Platinum rated operators. Within that group, Jake decides who flies you, trip by trip.

Who is in charge of the aircraft

Lombardi Jet Services is an air charter broker. We arrange your flight as your agent, but we do not operate aircraft. Every flight is operated by a direct air carrier, in the United States an FAA Part 135 certificate holder, which keeps operational control. The carrier's pilots make the final decisions about the flight, and the carrier is responsible for the aircraft, its maintenance and its crew.

That is the standard arrangement for charter, and it is why our choice of operator matters so much.

What we check

  • The operator holds an ARGUS Gold or Platinum rating

We only arrange flights with operators rated ARGUS Gold or Platinum, and we confirm the rating for the specific operator before we put it in a quote. ARGUS is an independent aviation safety auditor. Its Platinum rating includes an on-site examination of training, maintenance, procedures and safety management.

  • The aircraft and operator are named in your quote

You see which operator will fly you and which aircraft it proposes, so you are never booking an anonymous category.

  • We talk to the operator, not a reseller

Jake deals with the Part 135 certificate holder that will operate your flight. He does not pass trips down through a chain of intermediaries.

  • We look at the aircraft and crew we are putting you on

Jake checks the operator’s record and the details of the proposed aircraft. On many departures from Teterboro, Westchester and Farmingdale he also meets the crew on the ramp before you arrive.

Ask us anything

If you want to know more about the operator proposed for your trip, ask Jake. He will tell you what he knows and what he has checked.
